LESSON FORMAT
Lessons are geared toward beginner riders and are 1 hour long (includes time to tack up and cool down)
Here is a rough overview of what students will learn in the first month of lessons:
In their first lesson...
Students will learn about the anatomy of the horse and how to properly lead, groom, and tack up a horse during the first half of the lesson. In the second half of the lesson, students will mount up and learn the basics of riding positions while on a lunge line.
In their second lesson...
Students will learn more about the anatomy of the horse and review what they read in their horsemanship booklet. More time will be dedicated to riding (rider still on a lunge line).
In their third lesson...
Students will be able to start tacking up the horse themselves (with supervision and assistance) and identifying the parts of the saddle. About 30 minutes will be dedicated to riding.
In their fourth lesson...
Students will continue to work through their booklet as well as learn from their hands-on experience at the barn. About 30 minutes will be dedicated to riding.
COST/LESSON PACKAGES
Instruction time will come in packages of 4 lessons for $100 over the course of one month (one lesson per week, $25 per lesson). Lessons are a total of 1 hour in length. Payments will be made at the beginning of each month but any changes to the 4-lesson packages can be discussed and easily changed to fit the need of each family if the need arises. :)
